Karlsruhe TechnologyRegion Skills Alliance

The Karlsruhe TechnologyRegion is a growth region that is creating jobs. But many of these are already proving difficult to fill: the skills shortage in many sectors has become one of the most urgent challenges facing businesses here. To tackle this problem, the Karlsruhe TechnologyRegion Skills Alliance was established on 25 January 2013 under the slogan “A career where High Tech meets the Good Life”.

The aim of the Karlsruhe TechnologyRegion Skills Alliance is to attract high-skilled people to the region, help them develop their careers and retain them long-term. To achieve this, a joint, open and proactive process has been set up to connect regional players and bring existing initiatives together. Solutions and measures are being developed to tackle the challenges and needs that exist in various areas and to create the right conditions for solving the skills shortage in the Karlsruhe TechnologyRegion.

Rather than competing with other initiatives in the region, the Karlsruhe TechnologyRegion Skills Alliance complements them and creates opportunities for exploiting synergies. The Skills Alliance is made up of around 100 representatives from politics, local authorities, SMEs, large companies, educational and research institutions, chambers of commerce and industry, the Employment Agency, associations, trade guilds, trade unions and social organisations.

The Karlsruhe TechnologyRegion Skills Alliance is always open to new members. If you would like to get involved or have any suggestions, please contact us at fachkraefteallianz@technologieregion-karlsruhe.de.

The Skills Alliance regional coordination office is funded by the Baden-Württemberg Ministry for Finance and Economy.
